  • Increased stressed on the joint from certain occupations
  • Arthritic conditions
  • Trauma
  • Benign or cancerous growths that occur in the structure of the hips
  • Congenital factors
  • Decreased mobility or flexibility in the trunk, pelvis, or legs

Types of Hip Problems

Hip pain can arise from injury or dysfunction involving such structures as bone, cartilage, muscle, tendon, bursa, or labrum.

How Physical Therapists Reduce Hip Pain

A physical therapist will perform a detailed evaluation of the hip and pertinent surrounding areas. They will identify areas that need to be addressed and ways to improve mobility or function as needed.
