Sophia-MainesDr. Sophia Maines, PT, DPT, OCS, CSCS, received her physical therapy degree from the University of Kansas Medical Center in 2011. She has a passion for outpatient orthopedic physical therapy and has worked in clinics in Massachusetts and Texas, treating a variety of conditions, from sports-related injuries to post operative rehabilitation.

Sophia’s treatments draw on evidence-based practice. She is a voracious reader and perpetual student of physical therapy. She works diligently to integrate what she learns from science, research and theory into her clinical practice. She works to assess how the body moves as a whole and how this relates to dysfunction in specific regions – from the foot and ankle to the temporomandibular joint.

Sophia is a Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopaedics (OCS) from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties and a certified strength and conditioning specialist from the National Strength and Conditioning Association. She is certified in Trigger Point Dry Needling through Myopain Seminars.

She also has certification in other manual therapies, including Active Release Technique for the lower extremity and Graston technique. She has completed courses in manual therapy from the North American Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy and in CranioSacral therapy.

In her spare time, she enjoys running, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
